# Preparation Steps:
01 - Set oven temperature to 400°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out stars and place them on the prepared tray.
03 - Brush each star with beaten egg and evenly sprinkle with sesame seeds.
04 - Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until puffed and golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
05 - Combine cream cheese, dill, chives, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a bowl; mix until smooth.
06 - Once cooled, carefully slice each puff pastry star horizontally in half.
07 - Spread herbed cream cheese generously on the bottom half of each star. Top with smoked salmon, cucumber slices, and capers. Cover with the top half.
